In addition to its thermal baths, or “medicinal spas”, Hungary is famous for its wine, porcelain, and jewelry. Hungarian jewelry typically comes in deep, jewel tones – often with a vintage look. During a wine festival at Vajdahunyad castle, I saw numerous Hungarian women sporting these dangling, jewel-toned earrings – which inspired me to take some jewel-toned glass beads and wrap them with sterling silver for a more updated, Hungarian look. Please see my Budapest Wine Fest Series earrings on the Earrings page under Hungary.
Did you know that the city of Budapest is really comprised of two cities – hilly Buda on the left side of the Danube River, and flat Pest on the other?
