Inspired by my travels throughout Europe, I’ve created jewelry pieces that are especially fitting for the woman seeking modern, edgy designs that cannot be found in department stores in North America.
My initial trip to Europe took place in 1992 to Germany and France, where I first noticed women wearing very modern and stunning jewelry that I had never seen before in the U.S. These pieces contained heavy wire and/or metal in the design, and included such combinations as metal and pearls, knotted leather and square beads, and chunky wire wrapped items.
Thereafter, I traveled throughout Italy, and to England, Wales, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Hungary, Austria, and Germany while collecting more jewelry and ideas, and finally learning beading and wire techniques to develop my own designs, inspired by each country.
Each year I travel to a new destination: In September of 2002 I visited Greece and Turkey, and brought home several intricate silver pendants. In September of 2003 I traveled to Spain, and developed very colorful wire necklaces inspired by Spain’s famous artists and architects. In September 2004 I went to Sicily. In 2005 I didn't go anywhere because my father was diagnosed with cancer. In 2006 I visited Warsaw and Krakow, Poland and brought back some baltic amber to create a unique necklace and earring set. In 2007, I will be travelling to the Greek Islands.
